DAVID MANUEL GARCIA

Composer, Conductor, Educator

As a performer, David has been blessed to have performed with an amazing array of musicians. As principal second clarinet in the Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra (2009-2011), he was also able to do chamber music on clarinet, such as Schubert's "Shepherd on the Rock" with soprano Suzanne Ramo. A year earlier he performed with the Temptations on bari! A seasoned pit musician, he has performed in pits all over New England, and even sat in with J. Geils once.

On the right, he is seen collaborating with Krishnamurtha Raghavendra and Salil Sachdev.

Dr. David Manuel Garcia previously held positions as the 5th-8th grade band director in the Afternoon in the Arts program at Lowell High School, Tewksbury Memorial High School, Associate Professor of Music and Program Coordinator for Music at Northern Essex Community College in Haverill, MA, with the Groton Hill Music Center Commumity Outreach program, and Department Chair and Associate Professor of Music at Bridgewater State College (now University). He continues to compose, conduct and serve as clinician in the New England region.

I have been delighted and honored to be conductor of the Acton-Boxboro (MA) Community Band since January, 2023.

We do thematic concerts, for example our visual arts theme was "I Hear Colors, I See Sounds..." where we premiered Renee Matthews' original wind band composition of the same name. Our next event takes place at RJ Grey Middle School in Acton MA on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Theme-"Poetry in Motion "

David Manuel Garcia has enjoyed serving students from elementary school to university graduate students as a band conductor, studio teacher and classroom instructor. He has conducted ensembles ranging from the Madrigal Singers at Worcester State College to the Wind Ensemble at Texas A&M International University. Other school ensembles have included:
